What happened to the Ranger?

What year is the S10? I've got a plethora of S10 parts to get rid of if you're missing any.

As for the auto...I'm not sure if the 4.3 was available with a stick, but if it was then it probably wasn't common. Should be easy to convert, the same engine was definitely offered with a stick in full size trucks.

forgot the year its a 1998. and yeah it was offered with a stick the nv3500 was what they had. thats a job for this summer since i now have a better job (and thus less time) and i make like twice what i did which wasnt much to begin with. and your right they are not very common

That's the combo I have in my C1500. It was available in the S-10 (See http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm), where it was probably a hot-rod. In a 4400-pound truck, not so much.

There's a user on this forum, I forgot his name, who has a 1500 with the 4.3 and 5MT, and he says it's fine. I'm inclined to believe him, it's probably fine...shouldn't be driving a truck too fast anyway. I'm sure it'd be pretty lame for heavy towing though.

Chill. His other truck was flatlining. Would you wanna be DDing a truck with a frame that might not last across town? Didn't think so. This was a great buy, especially for the price he paid for it. That aside, it'll be getting a five speed soon enough.

The Avenger is still there, sitting in the backyard, waiting for us to have some time.
When he had the Ranger, we both had red trucks with a sixxer and a 5MT. That weird enough for you?

Well, I'll let John spin the yarn on its demise, but... Here's something to whet your appetite for the story.
He climbed up on the front bumper one day...

Illustration of what happened:
Entire cab went from this angle: -
To about a 45* angle with the nose pointing at the dirt.
That began the investigation which pointed to the truck's untimely death.
