Re: Warner's STI
So tell us, how is the power difference going from a ~90 whp Geo to maybe a ~285 whp STi?

Re: Warner's STI
His STi is Stage-2 (with the upgrades, I'd say Stage-2+), so maybe add another 75 or so WHP, so about 360AWHP.

WHP is not the same thing as flywheel HP. Stock STi's only make about 220-230 at the wheels.six wrote:His STi is Stage-2 (with the upgrades, I'd say Stage-2+), so maybe add another 75 or so WHP, so about 360AWHP.
Re: Warner's STI
Cobb says their Stage 2 puts the STI at about 385HP. That with the other mods I have would, I assume, put it around 400HP to the flywheel. To the wheels, I'm not sure how much. ~300ish? You might know better than me. I plan on becoming more knowledgeable about all this ASAP .
As for the shift in power...yeah. Definitely noticeable, haha. When I drive the Geo, there is a significant, noticeable power loss when I turn on the AC. Now with so much HP to spare, I don't feel a thing.
I also never used to get longing stares in the Geo like I do in the STI.

Re: Warner's STI
AWD robs more power. You'll get less HP to the wheels than a similarly powered FWD or RWD car. That being said you also won't have wheel spin, and you can take it anywhere you want.
As for DIY maintenance. My Subaru is dead easy to work on. STi's are a little more involved/cramped with everything related to the turbo, but there's not much that I've come across that has been difficult.

Two pedals, two feet, too easy.

Re: Warner's STI
Turns out my gold wheels are growing on me. I thought about trying to get some silver BBS wheels on there, but now I'm not sure.

So jelly.
I had the opportunity to drive a buddy's stock Evo 9 and I nearly shat my pants once the turbo spooled. I can only imagine the magnitude of pants-shittery that would occur with your car.
