Re: My TSeX
Identical to the car I test drove before I bought mine. Nice car, but I didn't feel it was worth the price they were asking.
Two pedals, two feet, too easy.

Re: My TSeX
Nice. I really like the TSX, especially that year. My friend's dad used to have an '04, it was a great car.

Acuras in general have really good resale values.4onthefloor wrote:Identical to the car I test drove before I bought mine. Nice car, but I didn't feel it was worth the price they were asking.
It's such a great car. Im in love with it. It's not fast, but the way it handles, the steering, and just overall chasis is just amazing. Reason why it's been on top 10 car lists for multiple years.

Jelly, I have been bothering the folks on IRC about swapping in a TSX power plant into an Accord.

Re: My TSeX
maybe into an older accord; newer accords have almost the same engine so you're probably better off modifying the K24 that's already in there, and upgrade the tranny with more aggressive gearing while you're at it. having driven my sister's '11 accord se auto, i have come to appreciate the more aggressive gearing, cooler engine sound, better torque and lighter weight of my jetta. my mom's '07 accord is kind of in between my jetta and the '11 accord. the '11 accord NEEDS better gearing or maybe just the V6...bk7794 wrote:Jelly, I have been bothering the folks on IRC about swapping in a TSX power plant into an Accord.

Re: My TSeX
Yeah, the only difference is the 6 speed gearbox, which could bolt right up to a stock 7th gen accord, and the engine makes a bit better power, 200hp and 170lb-ft of torque compared to the stock 160hp, 161lb-ft of torque.potownrob wrote:maybe into an older accord; newer accords have almost the same engine so you're probably better off modifying the K24 that's already in there, and upgrade the tranny with more aggressive gearing while you're at it. having driven my sister's '11 accord se auto, i have come to appreciate the more aggressive gearing, cooler engine sound, better torque and lighter weight of my jetta. my mom's '07 accord is kind of in between my jetta and the '11 accord. the '11 accord NEEDS better gearing or maybe just the V6...bk7794 wrote:Jelly, I have been bothering the folks on IRC about swapping in a TSX power plant into an Accord.

Re: My TSeX
yeah, but the accord makes torque at lower rpms; have to rev the tsx engine to get any torx.bk7794 wrote:Yeah, the only difference is the 6 speed gearbox, which could bolt right up to a stock 7th gen accord, and the engine makes a bit better power, 200hp and 170lb-ft of torque compared to the stock 160hp, 161lb-ft of torque.potownrob wrote:maybe into an older accord; newer accords have almost the same engine so you're probably better off modifying the K24 that's already in there, and upgrade the tranny with more aggressive gearing while you're at it. having driven my sister's '11 accord se auto, i have come to appreciate the more aggressive gearing, cooler engine sound, better torque and lighter weight of my jetta. my mom's '07 accord is kind of in between my jetta and the '11 accord. the '11 accord NEEDS better gearing or maybe just the V6...bk7794 wrote:Jelly, I have been bothering the folks on IRC about swapping in a TSX power plant into an Accord.

Re: My TSeX
Yup.
I need to rev this baby out to get any power. I often shift at 2.5-3.5 and time to time will take it up to 5K if I need to merge on a highway.

I don't think I go a day without hitting redline in either of my cars.
Re: My TSeX
Today I hit 6K in 2nd when merging onto a highway.94Corolla5Speed wrote:I don't think I go a day without hitting redline in either of my cars.
Highest i've ever gotten my car and surprisingly it was rather smooth while getting off clutch quickly.

Re: My TSeX
Really?? I barely go over 3k. LOL Though I am starting to open my engine up a bit more. The high mileage fear is going away.94Corolla5Speed wrote:I don't think I go a day without hitting redline in either of my cars.

Re: My TSeX
Meh, one has 199k miles, one has 90k. I've been driving them like this since 132k and 79k, respectively, and they still run great.
