Re: Fit but you know it (2013 Fit Sport)
I always cover up/block out my license plate on the internet.
Shadow - I think that's the first time I have seen an actual picture of your car.

I block my plates because I run a website elsewhere (where I also posted these pictures) and I don't want some hooligan local to me who I banned wanting to exact revenge by slashing my tires or something mostly.

I definitely see where you are coming from. I don't put my plates up either. I just wondered about other peoples opinions and such.Shadow wrote:I think we might have discussed this before (or I might be thinking of a different forum), but I'll tell you that people have been known to track down a car by using the plate number and steal stuff from it. A good example is a guy who posted detailed pics of the $8000 audio system in his car, complete with a picture of his license plate. The thieves got his address from his plate number and stole his audio equipment during the night when the owner was home sleeping.bk7794 wrote:Nice car! I almost bought a Fit.
On the plate discussion, why do people block their digits? I mean, it is exposed anyways.
Personally, I have no problem showing my plate:
Or do I?

Re: Fit but you know it (2013 Fit Sport)
I got somewhere between 8 to 10L/100 km on the Fit. Then again, maybe I have a heavy foot.
The trick with the Fit is that it doesn't quite sip fuel when you are at high RPMs and/or high cruising speeds. Between 100 km/h and 120 km/h, the fuel consumption goes up quite a bit...

What is that in mpg approximately?Perpetuus wrote:I got somewhere between 8 to 10L/100 km on the Fit. Then again, maybe I have a heavy foot.

Re: Fit but you know it (2013 Fit Sport)
I get between 5 and 8 l/100 km - 8l/100km is about 30 mpg (29 mpg is 8.2 30 mpg is 7.8) while 5 is 47 mpg, though mostly city driving. - I find the fuel economy takes a nosedive at around 120 (75mph) - going up to 8 or so, while easing off just a bit (110-112 or 70mph) has me floating at about 4-6L/100km
That said I'm only on my second tank and during break-in... plus it's just reported numbers from the dash right now as opposed to measuring it through fuelly or similar, I'm taking a long drive to Chalk River Ontario then Ottawa then back home to the Greater Toronto Area in the first week of august and I'll tell you my numbers there / get Fuelly put up in my sig. Most Fit forums are saying that the EPA numbers on the car are really easy to hit / beat but there's obviously some affirmation bias there going to a community that largely likes their own cars.
One complaint I already know I'm going to have is the 40 L (10.5 gallon) tank - I'm used to my Jetta's 55L (14.5gal) tank which would get me a good thousand km highway at 120.
Edit: here's a message board thread specifically about 5MT drivers highway fuel econ

Having lifted the hood for some people at work I've gotten a few choice comments about the engine

I was thinking about this the other day. But when I was looking at Fit's I always like the base fit's shift knob better.
