If you can't budget, check to see if the park brake is on.

Glad to see you're still liking it.

There's a guy that lives a street over from me that has a black SS. It's a manual, thank Dog, and I've seen him driving it a few times. If the dude is ever outside when I'm walking past with the dog, I'm totally asking about it.

I think the graffiti was on the wall when Holden announced they would stop manufacturing in Australia - this is the type of vehicle that you'd like to sell in at least 2 markets in order to justify keeping it in production.

Kinda like Mazda had to partner-up with FCA before coming out with a new Miata made bidnest cents. Sometimes, you've got to produce brain-farts exterior to a cube formed by cardboard panels in order to come up with a way to spread the costs over more units of production.

I know, it really sucks, but at least I have one! R.I.P. Holden

They needed some greedy salesmen to move product, eh?

Holden's last new car is a 636-hp monster sedan
Image

"Holden Special Vehicles' GTSR W1 will combine the now-familiar (to us as the Chevrolet SS or PPV, from highway medians in the U.S.) Holden Commodore with an LS9 V8 borrowed from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. In HSV's tune, it'll pump out an eye-watering 636 hp and 601 lb-ft of torque courtesy of an air-to-liquid intercooler, a gen-6 supercharger, stainless-steel headers and a few other tweaks. Putting all that power to the ground will be a Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual gearbox, and we imagine the sedan will actually get some traction in most instances.
The bad news, aside from Holden closing its factory doors later this year, is that this engine and suspension setup won't be making it into any stateside Chevy."

Ordering an as-you-like-it 2017 Chevrolet SS has now come to an end. That's it. No more. The Holden plant in Elizabeth, Australia will now produce what is left in the order books, and shut down. Any hope of anyone getting one in the exact specifications they want is now up to dealer stock in-hand or incoming.
