it's not fully registered, but it's in my driveway, and it's been driven around a few times with its transit plate on. this is a second car bought at least partly to keep miles and wear off of the leased golf. this car has a big stick and even bigger balls!! this car has been around the block, but it seems to want to keep going. this car will pass almost everyone and everything unless it's short-shifted. which car is this?? i'll start with one (big) hint...

I'm curious if a manual could make Datsun interesting. Senta SE-R?

Several years ago I drove a friend's Sentra. Methinks Singer had input into its design.

Not sure if I’d even fit in a Sentra se-r, let alone allow myself to be seen in public driving one. My car isn’t a unicorn, but it could be considered a rare bird of sorts. Mainly because the manual wasn’t popular, but also it was the last year of the manual in this particular model.

So...it's an Altezzima.

it is indeed not a Maxima, though some might consider it the spiritual successor to the 5th generation Maxima...

was hoping for more guesses than you and tone bone, but waiting longer would probably be akin to watching water boil...is indeed an altima. 2007 altima 3.5 se. is indeed manual. 2007 was first year of 4th generation altima, and last year of V6 manual sedan (the V6 manual coupe continued on through the 4th gen).

I hear that engine is a gem and can roach the tires in 2nd with relative ease. I have no first hand experience though. The only V6 engines I have experience with are relatively weak aside from the Pornstar V6.

other than the f/i versions of those bigger gm V6s, those engines were always weak compared to the VQ. When I had my 98 maxima I found it odd how my little 3 litre V6 could be more powerful than the 3.8 litre engines ford and gm (and probably Chrysler) were making. This 3.5 litre is a whole nother animal. I managed to get it on a long stretch of empty road on the way home this morning and the beast came out. I thought I was going to grenade my transmission, the 1-2 shift was so strong. I don’t think I’ve ever felt that much power (at least in a long time) let alone that strong a shift. No tire peeling (a lot of that is tuned out of the 4th gen altimas driving dynamics) but I know I could do it if I tried.

they sound like a somewhat detuned or muted 350z. It doesn't take much modding to make one sound a lot like a 350z. I personally am not really interested in making mine sound like a 350z. It sounds less restrictive than it should be as it is. I am not too familiar with the 370z engine sound or that of other cars with the VQ37 variants. I have heard they are not as smooth and don't rev as freely, which makes sense.
