Thanks! I don't mind one bit!

I was unsure about the color until I went to the dealer to pick it up. After seeing it in person I just love it! It's not nearly as bright as it looks on mazdausa.com. It looks like more of a classy red rather than a boy racer *look-at-me!!!* red.

And yeah, it's technically Ford, but it's the better side of Ford (the best side IMO, if there is one)... :)

It might be partially owned by ford, but the 3 is still 100% JDM (built in Japan with very limited shared ford parts, save for the chassis  ... but that doesn't matter since a chassis usually never falls apart on you  )

Good choice on the 3, Cameraman :D
AFAIK, John, Six, and myself are the most active newer Mazda owners on this board... not to say there aren't others though

Now then..
1. Replace the antenna with an Acura RDX stubby antenna
2. lose the side moldings

Cheap/free mods that will enhance the looks greatly! :D

Thanks again everybody!

@ charbs152:

I'm actually only 20 and never expected to get a new car by this time either. I just work a lot and save a lot. I pay $130/mo btw.

where do you work?

you don't pay rent tho, do you? you live with your parents? that helps too, not having rent and utilities due...

I work at a gas station and a grocery store. 40 hrs/week at one and usually 20 hrs/week at the other. Neither pays overly well.

You are correct though, not having to pay rent is a real plus. I'm live with the parents when not at school. At school I've got rent, but it's split between four of us, so it's not too bad. What really suck is the insurance... I mean IT REALLY SUCKS!!!

Oh yeah, I guess I never mentioned... it's a lease. That was the cheapest and easiest way to get a new car to bring with me to school (without buying a Kia). It'll actually be kind of nice. I don't have to worry about long-term maintenance, I don't drive a ton of miles, so I will have to do very minimal regular maintenance (I think I'll have to do four oil changes and one tire rotation over the course of the lease), and I'll get another brand new car in 27 months. It's great!

Gee so you're going to end up paying 3510 for 27 months? What's the buyout price at the end.

My car cost 3400, and I've had it for 12 months so that's about 14 months to go until I break even. With a car in my hands.

AFAIK, $120 is a VERY cheap price for a lease, so it's good but still sucks.

EDIT: Drive it like you stole it, as much as possible, otherwise you'll have defeated the point of getting a lease. :P

Please don't take off the side moldings, or at least look at what it'll look like if you do remove them.
