Synchros shot? Weird noises while shifting? Not sure what needs to be replaced?

2nd gear grinds if i rev up in 1st gear too high

actually, whenever i shift from 1st to 2nd beyond 1.5k revs, it feels like there is something moving as i shift into place

i wait as much as 2-3s after i depress clutch pedal before shifting into 2nd also...

is this normal or a problem

sounds like a synchro issue. i'll let the others chime in for more info.

have you tried to double clutch your 1-2 shift? any grinding then?

it sucks to hear that you're having so many issues with this car. after reading your other thread, i'm glad that i didn't pick up a mk3 supra instead of my maxima, even though i have always loved that car. i'm sure i would be having issues every week.

Yeah, quite possibly a synchro. Perhaps visit the Z forums to see what trans fluid they recommend. Sometimes switching to a better synth fluid lessens synchro issues a little.
