That sucks. My snow tires are outstanding in the rain.

Mine are absolutely amazing in snow, and decent on dry roads, which is good. Rain on the other hand often requires very gentle throttle input if I dont want to end up in a ditch. Second gear launches are also pretty common.

wouldnt you think snow tires would be decent on rain aswell since the roads are often wet in the winter also?watkins wrote:Mine are absolutely amazing in snow, and decent on dry roads, which is good. Right, wet performance is vital for a good snow tire as in the winter you often encounter freezing rain, slush, snow melt and wet roads melted by salting.
Wet performance and hydroplaning resistance in addition to excellent snow performance is the reason why I like my winter tires a lot.

Nope. Tread is only two short seasons old and only has maybe 5-7k miles on it.Takigu wrote:ok so then i'm not crazy watkins snow tires must either suck or the tread is a bit worn
The tires do in fact have a strange dynamic. Snow, ice, slush, etc are no problem whatsoever. They even seem to grab in deeper water. When there is just a thin layer of water, especially moving rainwater, traction off the line is a bit iffy. Its rather difficult to explain exactly without having you drive the car.

Lots of uncalled for name calling and ranting in this thread.
kwak, it is repairable. Go to a few paint/body shops and get estimates. If you re-use your scratched bumper, you'll probably want to re-shape it, use some filler to get rid of the ridges/scratches. You can do this work yourself if you're so inclined and it should save you some money at the shop. Do some research online and see if you think any of this is something you can do.
Re-painting that single piece should be cheap, probably a hundred bucks or so.
As for the color, look at reference charts, go to the Nissan dealer, I'm sure it's find-able.
And take each piece of "advise" with a grain of salt.
