second gear click feeling

in my 2013 mazdaspeed3 whenever i shift into second gear, i feel 2 little clicks (no sound, just feel it). This happens whenever im accelerating and when im parked, it happens as well. The only time it doesnt happen is when I shift into second parked, foot still on clutch go in neutral and back in second. The 2nd time i go back to second gear with clutch pushed the entire time, it feels fine.

Also, going into first gear, i always feel a little resistance and i need to give a little more force than the other gears.

I have very little knowledge about manual transmissions since this is my first manual car. And I havent abused the clutch or anything. Ive had the car for a week and i baby it except for the occasional pull here and there but i havent launched the car, only stalled twice the first day i got my car.

I really dont know what is going on this started happening today. I didnt experience this when i first got the car.

my guess is that it's nothing major, as long as it's not a "loud" click.

sounds totally normal; might even have to shift into another gear first then go into 1st, or you can wait a couple of seconds before shifting into 1st after pushing the clutch in. how old is your car (how many miles)??
EDIT: make sure you are pushing the clutch down ALL THE WAY :D :!:

you need to have more patience with yourself. don't expect to become a pro shifter overnight.

could still be normal, or could be signs of a problem. most likely not major either way.

F the car is sitting still, engine idling, with your foot fully depressing the clutch pedal, can you shift from Neutral into 2nd w/o the click?
Does it change anything if you shut off the engine and repeat the above actions?

F it makes a difference with the engine off vs. on, I'd suspect the clutch is still spinning. Could mean that it isn't fully disengaging. Might be there is rust on the transmission input shaft splines (missing slight film of lubrication?), or it could be that the pressure plate is not fully releasing (air bubble in hydraulic line?).

it still happens idling from neutral into second as well as engine off. Strangely enough, i accidentally stalled when u turned on my car (forgot to put it back into neeutral) and after that happened, it practically went away. Now only happens about one in every five times

That's the rust shaking off. Stall it on purpose about ten more times you'll be good to go.
