Re: What are you listening to?
It would be free publicity for any performer(s), but every other performance seems to be prefaced by the announcement that recordings and pictures are not allowed. The only reason this group has a recording contract and is out there performing is because of such free publicity, so they see the positive side of it.1974Alfa5spd wrote:It's called free publicity!Rope-Pusher wrote:This was the only act I've seen where posting videos and photos of the performance was encouraged.

I wish I had the money to go see Straight No Chaser live when they were in my area a few weeks ago. I'm definitely a fan.
Their 3 CDs are what's playing in my car right now.

Re: What are you listening to?
My daughter knew one of their singers from the local schools - he was a year ahead of her.
I didn't miss musical instrument accompaniment. I swear I heard trumpets during part of one song, but it was just their voices. I like the humorous "Twist" they add to their covers, although I think you have to be at a live showing to catch all of that.
Now I'll make you despise me by saying that we didn't have to pay for our tickets. They were performing at Windsor Casino, so my wife and I just pretended to be Canadians and we got in for free, aye? Well, if you don't believe that, maybe you'll believe that I paid for my ticket on the installment plan - I dropped $20 the last two times I visited the casino. (The tickets were comps)

Yeah, you also hear percussion, shakers, banjos, and some other instruments too heh.
I like their mash up songs, like "Billie Jean/Poison" and I'm Yours/Somewhere over the Rainbow.

Came up on random while at work. I'm not allowed to listen to music at work anymore. Why? I don't know these tools work with no music on. Anyway. I tried so hard no to laugh at work. I failed.

Lots of Skrillex and Deadmau5 lately. Getting really into Dubstep, but I like a lot of the Skrillex stuff that's not quite Dubstep.

Mostly classical and Christmas music. Time to get out the Christmas vinyl soon... Kenny Rogers, The Beach Boys, Bing Crosby... Anyway... In the realm of classical:
Aside from that, "Scheherazade", a bit of Debussy, etc.
