Re: Quotes.
He had a decent influence on my writing. I loved his stories. In fact, his "friendly fire" piece is almost identical in description to what actually happened to me.

Re: Quotes.
Youre quite wrong. There is no way around this fact. Manhattan clam "chowder" is just pure unadulterated unpleasant in chunky liquid form. It has no saving grace whatsoever.buster wrote:No, it's actually quite awesome. Not as awesome as New England clam chowder, but New England clam chowder makes you a lard ass.PprStSpCo wrote:Yugh! With reason, I deduce. That sounds horribly disgusting.watkins wrote:Its made with tomatoes instead of cream/milk. Its liquid nasty and is illegal in Maine

Re: Quotes.
that's probably a close aproximation of what manhattan clam chowder is. i've only had maybe 2 half-way decent manhattan clam chowders out of the several times I've been practically forced to have it. here's a hint: the flavors of clam and tomato don't complement each other too well. clam and potato and cream, on the other hand, go great together. even the worst new england clam chowder (and the ones around here probably don't compare to the ones Watkins and pals get served out east - many are watered down or don't have lots of clams in them or the clams are old etc) is better than most any other kind of soup out there that I've tried.paul34 wrote:wtf is Manhattan chowder. Sounds like an oxymoron, unless you're talking about what comes out of hobos at night in the subways

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Look in my sig. That's one of my favorite quotes concerning Alfa Romeos.

Re: Quotes.
From an RX7club thread that was full of lulz. Ricer newb posted a thread in the kills section, the OP went like this. He was subsequently torn apart.
I am in on a team, so to speak, and we practice with our cars on a regular basis. We have an area we consider our "territory", where we practice. We even have trainees who are hopefuls to apply for the team Shinken (thats us lol). I have never entered a race until recently when one of our trainees a 21yo with a Scion xA, with an AEM CAI, and TRD exhaust, w/5 speed challenged another person to a race on our territory. This is against the rules and where we practice has a terrible road condition and its pitch black at night. So to prevent the trainee from possible danger, I challenged him to a day time race on our 'course'. My car named "Megami", is a stockport 83, GS with the LSD and transmission from a 85 GSLSE, the engine has a FC1000 ignition, a custom made from texalian wing, a full custom Racing Beat/GReddy exhaust, and a few other things here and there. To make it more a battle of skill rather then power, I added 160lbs to my car's weight, and capped my top RPM to 6000, which is lower then where the engine power peaks with that particular exhaust. I also let him lead, I followed him and watched his movements until I saw he oversteered and braked too much during turns. On the last uphill before the finish line, a truck blocked his way, since he couldnt see what was coming bc of the hill, I drafted then engien braked to see if someone was coming, then passed him before he could get into my lane to block me. The race covered a curvy 8.6mile course in 7:32.47. Afterwards, I told him where he needed to improve and what he should modify next on his xA. It was an interesting experience for me as well, considering it was my first race. Tell me what you think! lol
