Sonic got hit

Post by AHTOXA »

I was driving in the middle lane approaching an interstate. Three lane road, I was traveling about 35mph in the middle lane. Left lane was stopped. The lady in the Wrangler decided to change lane into mine and got me in the left rear quarter. She's got Travelers insurance, so I called them and made a claim. Going in on Monday to see the adjuster.

Damage isn't bad, but I'm highly annoyed. Most of the damage and dents were done by her tire. The bumper left a nice scrape above the wheel arch. What you can't see in this photo is that the rear door is also dented and scratched.

At least you weren't hurt. It could always be worse.

Hopefully things work out for the best.

Wow, that sucks. She has very little damage to her Jeep. Somehow that figures considering that the collision was her fault.

As she was trying to pull out to the right, her wheel was turned and most of the dents on mine were actually made by the rubber. I deduce that because of lack of heavy scratches in that area and presence of rubber scuffing.

It still bugs the shit out of me and I hate driving my car as is. Going riding today to better my mood.

So the dimple in her bumper was already there?

The estimate came out to be $1600, which is where I'd imagined it to be. No parts will be replaced as only metalwork and repaint is required.

I'm just waiting on the insurance agent to let me know that their client corroborates my story so I can proceed with the repairs. There better be no issues with that.

Claim approved and I dropped the sonic off at the shop today. Will be ready early next week most likely.

I have to admit that my experience with travelers insurance (that's what the other part had) has been very positive so far.
