Friend Me
NISSAN FRIEND-ME
Nissan took the wraps off this futuristic looking concept called the Friend-ME. The four-passenger sedan was developed to appeal to Chinese customers born in the 1980’s known as Bālínghòu, kind of the equivalent of Gen Y in the U.S. The platform for the Friend-ME is based on current sedan architecture and is powered by a hybrid powertrain.

Riviera Ain't Just a Coastline in Frants
BUICK RIVIERA CONCEPT
Now lets take a look at the concept Riviera from Buick. Some of the technology that went into the concept is a plug-in hybrid system that can be charged wirelessly, and four-wheel steering. But the real show stopper is the Riviera’s looks. With its long raked forward silhouette, over-exaggerated design features and large gull-wing doors. Kind of reminds us of Hyundai’s HND-9 concept at the Seoul auto show.

Wireless charging? That's one hell of a lot of induction.

Bremen Wild Wings?
IT GIVES YOU WINGS!
In what has got to be one of the weirdest special edition models ever to come out of a car company, here’s the forjeremy from smart. Designed by fashionista Jeremy Scott who counts Lady Gaga and Kanye West as clients, it features a white leather interior with diamond stitching. And yes, it is going into production as we speak with a starting price of only $43,000. Like the rest of the smart line-up, it will only be available in extremely limited production.

Didn't Mazda have 4 wheel steering a couple years ago with one of their sporty thingies?

Re: Friend Me
There have been a few production vehicles with varying types of 4WS, but people tend not to want 4WS. IIRC the Mazda system was passive, just using suspension geometry to tweak the rear wheels when the car leans in a turn, and a popular mod is to replace some bushings with different ones that prevent 4WS.tankinbeans wrote:Didn't Mazda have 4 wheel steering a couple years ago with one of their sporty thingies?

KIA REVEALS NEW HORKI BRAND
The Horki Dyk
And we’ve got more reveals from the Shanghai auto show. Kia, along with its joint-venture partners, Dongfeng and Yueda (ooayda), unveiled its new China-only brand called Horki. The companies displayed a new concept car that doesn’t have a name. It’s based on the Forte platform and developed exclusively for the Chinese market. Kia says it hasn’t decided if it will produce the concept car but the company did say the first Horki cars will hit the market in 2015.

TOYOTA ME.WE
Earlier in the week it was the Nissan Friend-ME, today it’s the Toyota ME.WE. The company just introduced this EV concept in Europe. It’s built on a tubular aluminum frame and weighs just over 1,600 pounds, or about 20 percent lighter than a traditional B-segment car with a steel frame. It also features interchangeable body panels, made out of polypropylene, that can be personalized. The ME.WE is powered by electric motors mounted in each wheel and the battery is packaged under the floor to maximize space.

LAMBO CELEBRATES 50 IN STYLE
At its private 50th birthday party, Lamborghini pulled the wraps off a very futuristic looking concept, called the Egoista. The car is powered by a 600 horsepower V10 engine, uses an push button dome for access to its single seat and the cockpit is made up of carbon fiber and aluminum. It can also be ejected from the rest of the car in case of an emergency. The styling is said to be inspired by a Apache Helicopter. We’re sure if this concept does ever hit the streets it will carry a price tag as outlandish as its styling.
