2007 Impreza
Love:
- Frameless windows
- Looks
- sound (boxer engine/tranny whine)
- AWD!
- The way it handles with my new suspension
- Interior (even though most people think Subie interiors are cheap)
Hate:
- Headroom
- No folding rear seats (really Subaru?)
- Stock suspension
- Pretty slow off the line
- Somewhat lazy throttle
- Notchy gearbox
- Not an STi
The things I "hate" are not even a big deal to me. I still love my car to the absolute end, even though it has it's quirks. I wouldn't trade it for almost anything.

Two pedals, two feet, too easy.

Hate:

-The clutch a mechanic put in there was a piece of crap

I had a 95 Escort Wagon (5 Speed of course) that had the automatic shoulder belts that you love. I hated those things, but to each his own. Am surprised that the 91 Civic did not have power steering.

Love:
Mileage (28-31 winter) (32-36 summer)
Trip computer
Sunroof
Power windows
Power locks
Shift feel
Sync
Poop warmers
Alloys
Hate (mildly dislike to be more accurate):
Sync - sometimes she's a kvetchy bitch
No split folding rear seats
Shift light
Windshield wiper design (instead of both going in the same direction they sweep in opposing directions across the windscreen - think Chrysler minivans)
Upholstery color
The factory speakers are pretty hideous too, but I can always replace those some day.

The focus wipers are truly the best part. Ever try to pick the blades of a normal wiper setup up and move them around?tankinbeans wrote:Love:

Haha, it's like stepping into a time machine. Power steering was an option.Bill B wrote:I had a 95 Escort Wagon (5 Speed of course) that had the automatic shoulder belts that you love. I hated those things, but to each his own. Am surprised that the 91 Civic did not have power steering.

True. However, when trying to clear snow out from under these ones it's a challenge to remember which one has to go down first. If you get them backwards they will bind up and not work at all. The blades themselves are ginormous.bk7794 wrote:Ever try to pick the blades of a normal wiper setup up and move them around?

Re: What you love/hate about your car!
I had a 93 Escord LXi with those gall-durned automatic seatbelts with all of 4 horsepower, but it would do an honest 85 mph while pulling great mpg - usually around 25-27 without really trying to be nice (I was 17 at the time and drove like a 17 year old whose former car was a van). They didn't retract and stayed in position all the time. I had to maneuver my way in and out of them and they got to be a pain in the tookus.Bill B wrote:I had a 95 Escort Wagon (5 Speed of course) that had the automatic shoulder belts that you love.

Love everything....hate nothing. Seriously, I've never owned a car that suited me so perfectly. If I were designing the car myself, I don't think I'd change anything.

Re: What you love/hate about your car!
I didn't think that was design. I thought if you mixed up the order they will automatically correct itself. I posted a thread on here a while ago with videos.tankinbeans wrote:True. Not doubting you, I just always thought that was a neat feature.

I love everything in mine aside from stock brakes - they are awful - and factory speakers that are a bit weak.

Re: What you love/hate about your car!
I haven't tried yet, but will try. I'm usually concerned that I'll wreck something and didn't read up on the self correcting feature.bk7794 wrote:I didn't think that was design. Re: What you love/hate about your car!
Love:
-the sound of the engine/exhaust
-the awesome handling
-snickety good shifter
-terrific steering
-compact dimensions
-surprisingly comfortable seats
-RWD
-completely rust free
-ability to take the top off
-pop-up headlights
Hate:
-astronomic RPM at highway speeds
-poor MPG for a 1.6 (that is 90% related to how I drive the piss out of it )
-loses oil worse than a rotary (seriously, I have no idea where it goes. It has an extremely small leak that just left a mark on the garage floor over storage, but that's it. It also barely smokes at all. My mom's car which burns even less oil than mine completely smokescreens the neighborhood)
-feels like a wet noodle with the top off
-A/C makes cool, but not cold air. Need to recharge it
Even with all the foibles, I still love this car. It's so much damn fun to drive.
