Floormat Creep--What to do?

Post by ClutchFork »

So my floormat keeps creeping forward and every morning I pull it back. Would hate to have it jam up under the pedals and cause a problem. Guess I have to punch holes at the back and tie it to the seat mounts.

Maybe a good amount of adhesive velcro on the back? usually cars have mounts to keep OEM mats in place. Does yours have them? Or is this an aftermarket mat?

Here's how they do it in the newer cars:

Image

It just pops on to a small plastic stud and sits flush. The mats can never move.

You should try to do something like that....or maybe a similar idea using velcro.

I'll probably try the zip ties, but there is always this last resort  :

I have pegs in the floor and holes in the factory mats. My aftermarket mats (a $200+ set I snagged from a used car) have tabs with clips to attach to the pegs.

This thread reminds me of the Jeep guy that posted here briefly. He was asking people about pedal and revving fetishes.

Who knows, maybe he was a floormat creep.
