Sometimes there will be the random dimbulb who will pull over right after an intersection and everybody is forced to squeeze around.
Don't forget some of the burden is placed on the officer as well, since he can easily instruct the driver of the offending vehicle to pull forward a little with his PA mic (in theory).

Funny thing is they seem to be very skilled at what they are doing. If that happened in the U.S. imagine all the accidents.....

Indeed. They're good at it, but this is controlled chaos at its finest. A beautiful flow of human synchronization, but still controlled chaos.
Can you imagine the chain reaction collision this would cause in the States? Jeez.
