Thirty years in Chicago.

Every year, it's like the residents had never seen snow before.

Now I'm in Virginia.

Still, every year it's like they've never seen snow before.

But they have an excuse. :-)

Minnesota is the same way. People go too far, get impatient, and slam into things.

Can't wait.....ski season....must come soon.

And the 4Runner takes center stage again, so less stick shift driving for me, but that's okay. The car will come out on nice days.

Winter for me is just a slightly colder version of fall. And fall is just like a colder summer where the leaves change color. And spring is a slightly warmer version of winter where the leaves come back. Then it's summer again, which is just a warmer spring.

I'm not ready to think about winter. I still have to repair two snowblowers and my snowplow, as well as catching up on a plethora of automotive, yard, and house things.

Heh, winter isn't that big of a deal here, though people don't know how to handle a little ice on the roads. Since we don't often get big storms but they still occasionally happen, every time there is the smallest amount of flurries, all of the bread and milk is bought from about every store in existance. It's actually quite comical. Silly Kentucky.

winter is coming

Will actually be my first winter with stick / with my new car. Might actually be for the best I wasn't always great at managing 240 lbft torque going through the front wheels at like 2000 RPM.

Any 'gotchas' that I might not expect?

You'd be surprised...same crap happens in RI, supposedly it's been ever since the Blizzard of 78.

I don't get it. If I'm gonna be stuck in my house, bread and milk, really? How about alcohol and lube?

All work and no play...........

That's usually how I feel about winter anyway.

Because of my location wedged between the great lakes, we have been known to get quite a pile of snow. We've been lucky that past few years, but I'd say we are overdue for a big dump.
