I was always under the impression that you were a ninja.Shadow wrote:Lets see if anyone can put this together and explain it...
My username comes from the fact that I used to coach basketball. I'm white; most of my players were black. That should be all the hint someone here needs.

It's an old show. Lots of old shows were racist. Some more than others. Have you ever seen "All In The Family"? That show was more racist than most.

True, but the racist was Archie, and as I recall (it's been a while) typically the show made him look like a fool for being racist, so it was a positive thing. You had to like Archie because he was your typical American dumbbell who thought he knew all the answers--he was very laughable.Shadow wrote: Have you ever seen "All In The Family"? Wasn't there a basketball movie titled, "White Man Can't Jump"? At least I recall hearing that title many years ago, maybe in the 80s.

I was trying to come up with a name that was manual related. 3 on the tree was a little to old-school (and frankly kind of dumb sounding), and I couldn't think of anything car related that rhymes with five. 4onthefloor was kind of catchy and I used it.
I've never actually owned or driven a 4 speed car.

Two pedals, two feet, too easy.

Yup, though 1992. Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes. Race did have some impact on the movie, though it was more about guys using basketball to hustle money from unsuspecting people.InlinePaul wrote:Wasn't there a basketball movie titled, "White Man Can't Jump"? Re: How'd you choose your username....?
A Native American brave was curious as to how he had received his name. So he went to speak to his father, the chieftain of the tribe.
"Father," he asked, "how is it that I acquired my name.
The noble chieftain began a long narrative for his youngest son.
"Well, my son, I named you and both of your brothers for an event which occurred on the day each of you were born. For example, the day your eldest brother was born, I saw a deer running swiftly through the forest, so I named him Deer Running Swiftly.
"Likewise, when your middle brother was born, the rain was pouring hard outside of the wigwam, so I named him Rain Pouring Hard.
"Why do you ask, Two Dogs Copulating?"

Re: How'd you choose your username....?
When my son was barely walking he had a shirt with a monkey on it that said " #1 HUNK " The number one was a weird plaid that blended in well so first time I saw it I looked at my wife really confused and said "Monkeyhunk?" She couldn't get over laughing at it and I've used it as a screenname for a number of things since.

All nicknames should come into existance with stories like this.
