Tennessee might make for some nice vacation spots and/or SS meat locations...

Maybe I can convince mtheis to ride with me, if a meet ever happens again. It would make it for an easier drive, too.

i have been looking at maps and mapquest and have started focusing on areas around chattanooga and knoxville for possible ss meat locations. this area seems to be approximately halfway between the texas clan and the northeast clan, about 13-16 hours of driving, or 800-1000 miles. the main problem, besides distance/time for certain parties, seems to be that most of the forests/parks i see on the map are national forests/parks. i do see some state parks, but not sure if they're any different in regards to allowing dogs.

Must be dog and booze friendly. And preferably inexpensive.

National parks do NOT allow dogs anywhere outside common areas such as the parking lot. You can't take them to any campsites outside of car caping spots. That will not work for me at all.

State parks do allow dogs everywhere.

National Forests are free-for-all in many cases. Hike, camp where you want, etc.

I'm open to traveling.

yeah, i think there are at least some national forests and state parks/forests around there (chatanooga/knoxville and east of there). west of there i just saw small forests/parks. the area near chatanooga is not too far from the tail of the dragon area, but we'll probably want to avoid that area anyway.
