That plow is too large for that vehicle. It is unlikely that it belongs to that vehicle. The deflector on it is another clue...it's unlikely to be necessary when plowing with that vehicle.

Yeah I agree that it's too large. If I purchased/fabricated a plow, it would be small and V-shaped like this:

A plow like that would be way better than shoveling but a pain in the butt compared to a power-angling plow, whether straight or V.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi
Living in an apartment means no shoveling, right? No. I just have to clear off an entire dealership lot's worth of cars, dig them out, move them, wait for the plow to pass, and move them back.
Two good things come of that though:
1) I actually get paid to shovel.
2) I can dig a car out in under 30 seconds.

Stupid Chase. These idiots made me make like 3 passwords for some stupid account, and I can't remember which one worked with what. So you'd think by going to the forgot password section would help? Wrong. I need another one of those forgotten passwords to get the other. WTF? I feel like an idiot right now. Guess I'll have to call these guys and see if they can fix this. Not only that, using my SSN and my routing+account number gives me an error. WTF you retards?! I entered that information when I signed up. How the hell is it wrong?
*edit*: after raging, finally figured out my password .

I wish Baltimore County would let us know if there will be school tomorrow so I know if I need to finish this essay tonight.

So I realized I spent about an hour and a half studying how slushboxes work, and I now know they use TWO sets of planetary gearsets. This is too much for my feeble mind to handle.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi
Lol, I felt the same way. I love how they developed the planetary gearset way back when and they could push two gears and reverse, then eventually the Simpson gearset (basically two planetary gearsets connected by the same sun gear) and that got us up to three or four gears and reverse and everyone was like damn that's some hot shit! Then someone figured to make a Ravigneaux gearset where the two sun gears were still connected, but one had a larger radius, and everyone was like WOAH OUR MINDS ARE BLOWN WE HAZ FIVE GEARS. Then some German dude at ZF, all of eight years ago, had the very basic but seemingly incredible idea to put a basic planetary gearset in front of a Ravigneaux gearset, called it the Lepelletier gearset and created the first six-speed automatic transmission and f**k the entire automotive universe. ZF patented it and it didn't come out until like 02 or 03 in a bimmer or a merc, and while it was incredibly revolutionary, it still cracks me up that this whole invention was just the oldest planetary gearset and the newest planetary gearset placed end to end.1974Alfa5spd wrote:So I realized I spent about an hour and a half studying how slushboxes work, and I now know they use TWO sets of planetary gearsets. I'm willing to bet that when that guy figured out what he had done, and how simple it was to do, he had many, many, satisfying lulz.
And I know we love to rip on automatic transmissions, but design-wise, you have to respect them. They do some weird schittz with just holding bands and clutches and manipulating torque. Let's not even get into torque converters and that whole viscous coupling magical science.
