Well guys, the car on which I learned to drive stick has died. R.I.P. Nissan Sentra 1996-2011. :cry:

I think he said the timing chain went kaput. I'd think maybe the spring that adjusts the tension probably gave out. Or the tensioner itself.

Yeah, I think that may be the case. The mechanic told my dad and my dad told me so not everything was relayed properly. Basically the engine is just done for.

I think the top contenders for a replacement are a Mazda3 or one of the SAAB brothers (9-3 or 9-5).

There was a big blacksnake in the road today. I wanted to move him so he wouldn't get run over but I didn't want to get some sort of reptilian bacteria on my hands so I just kept going and hoped that I wouldn't see a squished blacksnake when I came home. I was delighted to see no squished snake (no snake at all for that matter) on the road heading home! :D
