Happy new year you peoples. I've been crazy busy. Last couple weeks of school, busy weeks at work, out of town for vacation (visited Chicago - it was unseasonably warm and nice), and life have kept me away. I'm still around.

I think its time to treat myself to new hatch pistons. I havent been able to open my trunk in the winter without a prop rod in years.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi
Happy New Year, all!
It's been a delightful weekend, as we've seen our first snow up in Portland. I grew up driving in snow, but always with small-engine FWD vehicles... and I'm glad to say that Echo performed like a champ in it, despite being equipped with summer tires. Traction control kicked in a handful of times, but the car can still enjoyably and predictably break free with the system engaged. I found myself making lots of excuses to run errands, and always returned with a big dumb grin on my face.

You are correct. Simultaneously more durable and more fragile than one would expect.Cornelius wrote:There is no such thing as simple when it comes to babies.
Oh, and be prepared to be late to everything. It's impossible to get a child ready on time for anything.

We treat them like wives treat husbands - we don't provide advance schedule information to them and we then wonder why they're never ready on time. Hang a big calendar on the wall of the baby room and list appointments and events on it and the baby will amaze you with how prompt they can be.

TESLA INSPIRED BY NICKI MINAJ?
"the Tesla X is 81.6 inches wide. That’s nearly 7 feet. And it’s wider than a Hummer H2 (81.2”), a Cadillac Escalade (80.5”) and the Ford F-150(79.9”)."

What about 4 1/2 year olds? I've witnessed my sister give my nephew very clear scheduling communications repeatedly, but once it's time to go...oh man can he drag it out.Rope-Pusher wrote:Yanno, don't blame the babies!Squint wrote:Oh, and be prepared to be late to everything. The Pablum is she lets him get away with it. Kida have arms, right? You want them to go somewhere, you grab their little hand in yours and you pull them along. If they say you are gripping or pulling too hard, you just tell them that the force you apply is proportional to the resistnce they put up. If they stop trying to pull away and hurry along with you, then you can ease up a bit. This method covers all the theories on learned behavior, from future pain avoidance to rewards for positive behavior.theholycow wrote:What about 4 1/2 year olds? A friend once told me that when he became an adult and had his own kids to contend with, he bridged the former generational divide to ask a fellow churchmember a question.
Q)"For years I've wondered how were you able to keep your kids quiet and on their best behavior by merely cupping your hand over their mouths?"
A)"Oh, you didn't notice that I was also blocking off their nostrils?"
