I'm at school right now. I've never had a T1 line before. It's amazingly fast. Even better, inside the buildings where our classes are, there is a wireless T3 connection for anyone who has a laptop. I don't have a laptop so I don't get to take advantage of the awesomeness of a T3 line.

true, but there's a big bottleneck at the wireless part of the connection.
i'm on cable with 5Mbps downstream and 512Kbps upstream.

What is your provider? When I signed up for the AT&T Broadband (in 2002) it was 1.5 mbps/512 kbps, but now Comcast took over AT&T, and the speed kinda increased. I don't know what the maximum speed is, but sometimes it goes as high as 3.5 mbps.

Yup most colleges do have T1 lines. Now they are moving onto WIFI...it seems to only get better from here.
