I'm at school right now. I've never had a T1 line before. It's amazingly fast. Even better, inside the buildings where our classes are, there is a wireless T3 connection for anyone who has a laptop. I don't have a laptop so I don't get to take advantage of the awesomeness of a T3 line.

true, but there's a big bottleneck at the wireless part of the connection.

i'm on cable with 5Mbps downstream and 512Kbps upstream.

What is your provider? When I signed up for the AT&T Broadband (in 2002) it was 1.5 mbps/512 kbps, but now Comcast took over AT&T, and the speed kinda increased. I don't know what the maximum speed is, but sometimes it goes as high as 3.5 mbps.

i'm using cox.net (formerly cox@home). i think it's only in southern california and some parts of nevada?

errr wrong :lol: ... I use Cox High Speed(cable) internet too and im in Arizona. Its 5meg downstream and 512k upstream I believe.

Yup most colleges do have T1 lines. Now they are moving onto WIFI...it seems to only get better from here.
