Did the guy from "Pushing Daisies" come along and tap this thread?
I like acceleration. However, in my car the speed is just as fun. Only once or twice have I taken it up to 70 or more. Lemme tell ya, feeling the car get buffeted around like a rag doll is fun. (Ah yes, the "about as aerodynamic as a turd" econobox feeling.) It's fun keeping the car under control though... Taking a long, winding (Talladega corner esque) bend on the highway at 70 in 5th, letting off the gas and going down to 65, back on the gas and out of the curve... It's fun!

2013 Ford Fiesta + a bike and a land yacht which are in pieces.
The fastest I've gone in the Goat was ~140ish on 495. The car was rock-solid. And then the next day, I was washing the car and I happened to look at the rear tires.......they were worn right down to the cords!
As to acceleration, there's nothing better than when I get next to those concrete Jersey barriers on the highway. I'll roll down my window, and downshift, and just listen to the LS2's roar bouncing right back into the car....it's like a symphony of horsepower!

I drive a Phantom Black 2005 GTO M6. I commute in a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.
70 is fast.watkins wrote:I sincerely hope you dont truely consider 70 as fast. Especially on a highway.
Where I live, the speed limit is actually 50 near the city, then 55 farther out. It's a highway, not freeway, and yes, I live in a slow ass city. It's not until I go up-island that the speeds finally reach 70.

#1 on the list of things not to say to a cop at a traffic stop:
"Hold my beer while I grab my license" *not applicable in Texas*
