Vancouver, Victoria, Vancouver Island (and area)

Post by Leedeth »

Hey all, just wondering if there's anyone out there other than Paolo and I that are in the Vancouver area.

If we ever do schedule a meet, let's have it upisland, say, Nanaimo. I'm sick of crossing the ferry. And, we all know that Victoria is a slow-ass retired people's town. But Nanaimo is a short drive from the Inland Island Highway 19, where we can let it roll.

A visual tour of 19 if anyone wants a look: http://modena.intergate.ca/personal/pl8 ... _19S_A.htm

Victoria reporting in, btw.

I'd be in. Nanaimo is only an hour south of me.

I was in Victoria two weekends ago for the Tool concert. :D

I've been discussing with Leedeth, and... If I have a job, and if it's planned far enough in advance... Well, put it this way. It's been a long time since I've been to Canada.

i think i got up to abbotsford in that picture tour in the first post. the signage is kind of, let's say, majestic, compared to what we have here in the states. don't see many signs with character around these parts :) .

What? Abbotsford isn't on the island, it's near Vancouver on the lower mainland.

if you click on the last picture on that page with the photo tour, it goes to another page that continues the tour. it goes south towards victoria and then east past vancouver into abbotsford and into the mountains. kind of dull until you get to a place with life.

Oh I see. Too bad they didn't continue down to Victoria and wrap around to the Swartz Bay ferries. :(

lol try 3 to 4 hours... the U.S. is only an hour away though. actually when we fly to abbotsford airport for training, our circuit pattern takes us into the states and back... muhahha crossing the border woot!
