More posts per page
I think we need more posts per page as an option. I tried checking the user control panel and there wasn't a preference for it. I don't like it when there's so few posts on each page that I have to keep loading new pages to see more.
I think we should have an option to show more posts per page. At the moment I noticed there's only 15 posts per page.... I think an option for 25, 30 or 35 posts per page would be good. Another forum I go to has 40 posts per page if you want.

Re: More posts per page
I'd vote for that, though I hide avatars and signatures so 15 posts usually isn't that long. My guess is the misc thread post-whores won't like it since there would be no meaning to "page ownership"

Re: More posts per page
Anything bigger than 15 can take far too long to load. Theres really no reason to have it any different

Re: More posts per page
Some people have fast connections with high latency (satellite, anyone?) and it takes much longer to load two pages than one double-length page. Then, there's people like me who just prefer to scroll instead of constantly clicking to the next page.
Either way, this forum is very low-bandwidth, so loading more posts is not going to make it take very long.

Re: More posts per page
Out of the forums I have been to or visit now I really enjoy the 15 post-per-page format. I visit the Car Lounge frequently and they use 30 posts per page method and I hate it. I do prefer it as it is right now.

Speak for yourself there buddy. This guy's opinion is just as valuable as yours or mine. He's using the forum and is sharing his thoughts on it. That's good.Bawked wrote:we dont care about your noob opinion.
Personally I like it the way it is now.

I like how it is but I think there should be an option to customize your experience. So, I vote yes to having this option.

Re: More posts per page
It seems like some people in this thread are worried that the OP was asking to make more posts per page a requirement, not an option.
On most vBulletin forums there's an option. The default is similar to this forum, but you can choose less or more and it only affects you.

Re: More posts per page
however, if we were to put it as an option...page ownership would have no meaning....AND if we were to say "it was on page 2" page two would mean different things for different people. i have no care really about what it is....cuz i prolly won't change it unless i get convinced its better.
i want one post per page.

Its just a stupid idea to let a noob run off without a leash and change a successful formula

It's all good man.
O.P. - I think if there was a major sway of opinion to have more posts per page, then it might be worth spending time on it but it seems like msot of the people prefer the way it is.

Re: More posts per page
Thanks, but I was only mentioning it as an option.... as in, you can choose to have more posts per page if you wanted but the default will still be 15 posts per page. Its up to the administrators if they want to add it or not, but I guess there aren't many people who like it.padauk_dust wrote:O.P. - I think if there was a major sway of opinion to have more posts per page, then it might be worth spending time on it but it seems like msot of the people prefer the way it is.
and well, I may be a noob on this forum, but some people just aren't worth quoting no matter how many posts they have.
