Should I work on becoming Canadian now so that I may get other cars they have that we don't? I'm used to the climate, but don't understand French.

You aren't going to be crossing into Quebec, you should be fine without the French. I AM actually curious as to how much more it would be to buy a Canadian one and then pay the taxes to import it...tankinbeans wrote:Should I work on becoming Canadian now so that I may get other cars they have that we don't? No, you buy a US slushbox model and then drive over and swap with someone in Canada for their Amish model. Just change plates and drive home - nobody ever checks VINs.Squint wrote:You aren't going to be crossing into Quebec, you should be fine without the French. I know that's a joke, but in RI you'd get caught when they plug the machine in for the 2-year inspection.Rope-Pusher wrote:No, you buy a US slushbox model and then drive over and swap with someone in Canada for their Amish model. Just change plates and drive home - nobody ever checks VINs.

Praise me to dog that we don't have inspections, or curse be to dog (we do have a goodly amount a craptastic hoopties and jalopies cluttering up the road with their busted taillights, sagging suspension, non-existent turn signals, and missing body panels cluttering up the motorway)?theholycow wrote:I know that's a joke, but in RI you'd get caught when they plug the machine in for the 2-year inspection.Rope-Pusher wrote:No, you buy a US slushbox model and then drive over and swap with someone in Canada for their Amish model.
