Cleaning under my wind deflector
I have a wind deflector on my Rodeo. Does anyone know how I can get the bits out from under it?

No. I would have done that already.

I looked at it under the hood and it looks like the only way to remove it is to break these little plastic tabs off.

Pressurized water aimed from behind would be my first theory.

What are those for (well, obviously to deflect wind, but still...)? Saw them quite a lot in Thailand couple of years ago and wondered it back then. Around here they are quite rare - I recall seeing only a handful over the years.

They help keep bugs off of your windshield. Can't imagine that's very useful in Scandinavia.

You should see my windshield...ElectroGhandi wrote:Can't imagine that's very useful in Scandinavia.
It might also be a safety issue. Those things could do pretty nasty damage if you hit a pedestrian.

The wind deflector? You're lucky I got the wind deflector instead of the brush guards/bull bars.Tups wrote:It might also be a safety issue. Those things could do pretty nasty damage if you hit a pedestrian.

Re: Cleaning under my wind deflector
In my experience, wind deflectors are purely aesthetic. They do not reduce the quantity of bugs smashing the windshield or accomplish any other function...or at least did not, for me.
I can't imagine how that wimpy piece of smooth plastic could relate to a pedestrian safety issue.

No more rock chips on the edge of the hood. Only reason for every putting one on

Well, it is an aesthetic issue too, like most of those OEM option packages.watkins wrote:Only reason for every putting one on
Here's an ugly white Rodeo without a deflector...
and here's my Rodeo with the deflector. You be the judge.
