Today she received a treatment of Royal Purple synchromax trans oil and Royal Purple 75w-140 gear oil for the diff. Cost of oil - $135. Nothing is too good for Michelle.

Meh. Now I need to swap the clutch fluid and flush it/bleed it.
That's my thing to do for tomorrow morning.

Ill feel sorry for you in a few thousand miles if you didnt use friction modifier.AHTOXA wrote:Today she received a treatment of Royal Purple synchromax trans oil and Royal Purple 75w-140 gear oil for the diff. Cost of oil - $135. Nothing is too good for Michelle.

Re: AHTOXA's new GTO
Royal purple already has friction modifier. The bottle is mark as "limited slip".

Re: AHTOXA's new GTO
RP gear oil is not used for this current tranny. Recommended is the RP Synchromax. It has had high success according to many forum members and comes as a number one recommendation. What Jessip is talking about is the gear oil, which has friction modifiers that accommodate an LSD.

Well if starts whining and popping in a few thousand miles, get torco FM and put in some more.AHTOXA wrote:Royal purple already has friction modifier. The bottle is mark as "limited slip".
I heard it works best next to the GM whale oil stuff.

Re: AHTOXA's new GTO
I did notice there was some slight popping sound in lower gears (up to 4th or so) and it's still there after the oil change.
I haven't been able to find the cause yet. It almost sounds like slight exhaust popping but it also happens when I'm on the throttle as well.

If it does it louder when you make a turn... then for sure its the diff. In a few more miles it'll gewt more pronouced if it is as well.AHTOXA wrote:I did notice there was some slight popping sound in lower gears (up to 4th or so) and it's still there after the oil change.

No, it does not get more pronounced during turns. In fact I have not heard it at all during turns. Orignally I suspected a lose exhaust mount. The noise seems to come from the mid-back on the right side.

You need to use fully-synthetic muffler bearing grease!AHTOXA wrote:No, it does not get more pronounced during turns. In fact I have not heard it at all during turns. Orignally I suspected a lose exhaust mount. The noise seems to come from the mid-back on the right side.

He obviously needs synthetic halogen fluid and synthetic blinker fluid. What good will synthetic muffler bearing grease do for his problem? Now, maybe if he replaces his muffler bearing...

This post is dizzying me. I need to sit back and get my bearings again. Let Tony get his own bearings.theholycow wrote:You're a jerk, disseminating false information as a practical joke.Rope-Pusher wrote:You need to use fully-synthetic muffler bearing grease!
