Re: 4onthefloor's New Whip
I put the rims from my '07 on to see what they look like. These damn new gens have huge fenders and 17s don't quite fill them. Not sure whether I like the look of these rims on the car. The tires need replacing so I might just use them up until winter then slap some snows on the rims and use them for winter duty.
Two pedals, two feet, too easy.

Re: 4onthefloor's New Whip
Also came up with a short parts list of things I want to put on the car:
1) RCE Yellow Springs. Had them on the '07, really liked them.
2) Nameless Axleback. Not sure whether I want to go with the muffler delete or if that will be too loud and obnoxious.
3) Front lip
That will probably do me for now.

new rims that came with T-Rex look nicer; old set will make nice winter wheels though4onthefloor wrote:I put the rims from my '07 on to see what they look like. My buddy has a full Nameless exhaust with divorced cat on his '15 STI. That thing is loud but it sounds awesome.4onthefloor wrote:Nameless Axleback. Not sure whether I want to go with the muffler delete or if that will be too loud and obnoxious.
Id probably go with a catback with the largest of their muffler sizes. But maybe not. I like loud. I have a catless 3" downpipe and a muffler delete. Its only moderately annoying. Unless I decide to make it pop constantly

So, I know I said it would stay stock for a while. I think we all secretly knew that was a lie.

Re: 4onthefloor's New Whip
What am I looking at?
Mud flaps, obviously.
Left of mud flaps: Sway bar end links, or some kind of "dog bone" connectors for shift linkage maybe?
Brace, maybe it goes under the hood somewhere to increase body rigidity?
Above and right center of brace: Bag of two bushings?
Above and left center of brace: Two indvidually wrapped things that also look kinda like sway bar end links?

That's a very beefy hood prop-rod and those glovebox door hinges I'm sure will be appreciated, but the chrome jackhandle is just rice.

Re: 4onthefloor's New Whip
To the left of the mudflaps are swaybar endlinks. The gold pieces are locking collars for the swaybar bushings. Above the bar are the sway bushings and braces that go from the endlinks to the LCAs to further stabilize the bar.theholycow wrote:What am I looking at?

Re: 4onthefloor's New Whip
Where do the end links go first before the extra connector to the LCA?

Endlink is the skinny piece going from the sway bar to the LCA:theholycow wrote:Where do the end links go first before the extra connector to the LCA?
Other pieces connect as such:

Re: 4onthefloor's New Whip
Oh, I get it...the regular end links do go to the LCA, the other part goes to the LCA too.
In those photos, it goes from the sway bar bushing bolt to the LCA's frame-mounting bolt, not from the end link to the LCA. It connects one stationary piece of frame to another stationary piece of frame. I don't quite grasp what that might accomplish, except increasing general frame stiffness...likely a useful goal itself.
