Clutch linkage?

I have alot of play (the shifter moves around quite a bit even in gear) in my shifter and my friend who has some mechanical experience says it's the clutch linkage. Anybody ever fixed one and how much did it go for? I'm guessing I would probably have to fix the linkage or bushings when I install a new clutch so i'm just dealing with it for now but it makes driving a manual a true workout because you have to know precisely where to shift or else you may end up in the wrong gear which I have done a few times

After a lot of use, the clutch needs to be adjusted so everything fits together snug. Local, trusted mechanic, take it in, blah blah blah.
