IIRC, the STI shifter is one of those where you seem to feel every last bit of the shift mechanism, and they feel as if they could use a good lube.

yeah there is a lot of feedback feeling. like you go against the gate, feel the resistance, feel it start to synch up, feel a little click/notch as it goes more into the gate, then feel the gear engage fully. unlike my friend's accord where it doesn't even feel like the shifter is hooked up to anything at all. :lol:

i think i might go to synth gear oil some time.

I think I'd compare a notchy shifter to a golf club. There are balls and clubs, with different feels. Some people like a soft feel, where you barely feel the ball come off the club face, like it just melts into the club face, and then takes off. Others like where when you hit it, there is a hard click, and you feel the ball make contact with the club. Me, I prefer a realy soft feel, where you barely feel it, but you know it made good contact.
