no the knob itself is bulky... as in teh knob is a little big for my liking, but I guess it's because Im used to a smaller knob on the civic< N I C K > wrote:Bulky as in long?Sypher wrote:seems like the 3's and the 6's have the same shift knobs... they look nice, but I find they're a little bulky

Thanks for the comments, I like the 3's knob, its size makes it easy to grab, my hand fits perfectly on it. I need to get a new knob though, that one's getting a little dirty.
Actually, it's two stripes one red, one white.Johnf514 wrote:dklkse wrote:What's up with the pink stripe?jcprov21 wrote:Nice looking man.. I love the red stripe down the side...

Are those the 16" wheels? Black looks great but I'd probably lose the pinstripe...
I really liked the shifter in my 3 too. The only things I didn't like about the car was that it was difficult to heel-toe and I found the throttle was a bit too sensitive. Gas mileage was decent with the 2.0L and it was still peppy around town.

They've a Mazda 3 MPS version I believe - from memory it's a twin turbo 2.3L S4. But I can see from the standard wheels it's not the MPS version. That's not a criticism because the 16" wheels probably give a better ride.Johnf514 wrote: All Mazda3 S's come with the 2.3L I4 that makes 160HP/150FT-lbs. Nice little engine, although I'm unimpressed with the fuel economy (24/29).
The 24/29 mpg will be using the US gallons. So to convert to a measurement I'm familiar with that's about 29/34 mpg using UK gallons, or between 8.5-10L/100km. That's not too bad considering the power you're getting. 0-60 mph in between 8 or 9 seconds..?
